REASON FOR POST: While speaking to Nathan tonight he informed me that he most likely won't be reading book 6 until he returns from Japan. Taking this into consideration, please do not divulge any big details in a review. I am positive once Nathan has read the book we will have massive discussions regarding it, so that's something to look forward to! Take good notes!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling, the sixth book in the bestselling series, has been scheduled for release on July 16, 2005 in the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia.

In the fifth and most recent book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the last chapter, titled "The Second War Begins," started:

'In a brief statement Friday night, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge confirmed that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has returned to this country and is active once more.'

'It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord - well, you know who I mean - is alive among us again," said Fudge.'

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince takes up the story of Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at this point in the midst of the storm of this battle of good and evil.

The author has already said that the Half-Blood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldemort. And most importantly, the opening chapter of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been brewing in J.K. Rowling's mind for 13 years.

BOOK: The Proposal by Lori Wick
THOUGHTS: Very easy read. It has kept my interest. The plot is very simple and predictable, but I would still recommend it.

REASON CHOSEN:It was suggested by Nathan and Rachel (the looks of horror and the "you haven't ever read them?" was enough to encourage me to start them!)
I am reading the entire series. I really enjoyed the first two: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.
CLOSING THOUGHTS: I am really glad I have finally gotten around to reading this series. The remind me of Harry Potter in the fact that they are meant for younger readers, but adults can read them and enjoy them as well.

I have such a long list of books I want to read, and hopefully through this blog the list will only grow.
